You want Ford Racing Engine Performance Value? You got it with the Ford Racing 306 Cubic Inch and 340 HP Crate Engine! The most popular crate engine in the Ford Racing lineup is now easier than ever to drop in and be ready to run. The new X302D the D" referring to dressed" comes with carb, intake, distributor and wires. It takes the guesswork and installation issues out of the way with a complete Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Holley Carb and MSD distributor package that has been developed and tested by Ford Racing Engineers. To dress out the X302D, The Ford Racing Engineers spec'd parts from the best in the aftermarket Holley, Edelbrock and MSD.

X302 is a smart mix of original Ford re-manufactured production block and crankshaft, Ford Racing heads and internals from some of the best Aftermarket Performance parts manufacturers. The production 302 block is bored .030" oversize and fitted with Mahle forged pistons. The crankshaft is precision ground and use Eagle forged I-Beam connecting rods. The camshaft is one of the Ford Racing classic Alpha-Cams" the E303 with .498" lift working along with roller rocker arms and roller timing chain. Ford Racing aluminum X-Heads with high swirl combustion chambers top off the engine. Chrome Ford Racing valve covers set off the engine and will make any owner proud to open his hood. All buttoned up and ready to go this package pumps out 340 horsepower and works in just about any classic or vintage Ford car or truck.

These are the same Engineers that design and build 500+HP Ford Racing Crate Engines, 1,000+ HP Pro Stock engines and 200+ MPH NASCAR engines. X302 features a mix of the best OEM, Ford Racing and aftermarket parts to deliver strong street performance at an outstanding value.

This is the perfect replacement engine for a vintage muscle car, late model project, truck or street rod. And unlike the imitators, no other crate engine has the Blue Oval heritage and Ford Racing Engineering and Technical support.

  • Flywheel not included. Requires 50 in/oz. imbalance flywheel M-6375-B302 (T-5) or flexplate M-6375-A50 (AOD)
  • Great for kit cars, street rods, Mustangs, Fox-bodied cars, and trucks
  • IMPORTANT WARRANTY INFORMATION! Power-adders such as superchargers, turbos, or nitrous not recommended. Use of power-adders voids the warranty. See Ford Racing Boss series of crate engines such as M-6007-X302B or M-6007-X302E if you plan power-adder enhancements

  • or modified for proper installation:
    • A different performance oil pan and pickup may be required for your application. Call the Techline at (800) FORD788 for more information
    • The timing chain cover will work with most standard rotation water pumps.
    • Fuel pump eccentric M-6287-B302, which is already installed, allows use of a mechanical fuel pump
    • For other transmission applications use the proper 50in/oz imbalance flywheel
  • Firing order 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 (5.0L HO and 351W order)

Installed in a 66 mustang with a performance automatics c4 tranny with a 2800 stall and 3.73 posi rerend. Car runs strong and has been dependable so far
